Nocturnal Vigil
26/05/2009 15:39I made my first SH picture! :D
It's quite simple, but I still like it. ^^
I also wrote a little story for it. Hope you like it! ;)

I hope the picture looks alright to you, it may seem too bright for you. Somehow I have a darker monitor, so I see all things darker. <.<
And here's the story!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sky is dark outside and no stars are sparkling, it is a night full of darkness. There is no moon shining tonight.
The fire flickers in the fireplace and shadows dance across the ground. The man in the chair looks silently into the flames without seeing them.
Finally a sound breaks the silence, the clock is chiming. It is midnight.
The man rises and goes to his desk where he opens a drawer to take out a small candle. It’s color seems to be red in the flickering light. The man also takes a match and slowly leaves the room.
In the darkness of the hall he takes the stairs upstairs, but he does not need a light to find his way. He stops in front of a door and for long moment just stares as if the door would be opened. But the door is never opened.
Slowly he opens the door himself without making any noise and enters the dark room, no light shines through the window. The man takes a chair and puts it gently beside the bed. He sits down and looks to the man sleeping in the bed.
The sleeping man’s deep breathing is the only sound in the room, slow and calming.
The watcher puts the candle on the ground, strikes the match and lights the candle. A soft glow shimmers and brightens the room.
The watcher looks into the sleeping man’s face which glows softly in the light. The man never awakens and continues to sleep deeply.
And so Sherlock Holmes awaits the dawn of a new day with the light of a single candle.
Date: 26/05/2009 15:21 (UTC)I took a hint and checked out your ffnet profile, so here I am.
The picture is lovely, quite nicely done. The cropping is clean, and it helped that the backgrounds were dark. Good job!
I've only reawakened my SH obsession myself. And only by checking out the Granada series on youTube got me back on track. I'm glad to see that fellow fans are still abound even after all this time. =) Can I add you on my friends list?
Well, I thought of it being a oneshot, but you never know. ;)
Originally it should be a hurt!Watson (what's this word + ! btw? never really understood this way of writing... oO) image for Watson's Woes, but the picture where he was hurt did not really fit in the end, but I could follow this line of thought in a story... *taking a net and looking for a plot bunny*
Date: 27/05/2009 17:09 (UTC)I meant the type of writing this.
An emotion + exclamation mark - hurt!Watson, sad!Watson and whatever.
As I understand it, it means that Watson will be hurt/sad in the story, but why write it like that?
Could happy!Watson also be possible? So far I've only seen negative emotions... oO?
Ah, but thanks for the explanation about Angst, now I understand that better. The same word is "fear" in german, so I always thought about that at first.
Just like Angel, that's "fishing rod" in german. XD
